Penetration Testing is a security assessment of your perimeter defense. Although the same testing often can be used for an internal review, they are best done from an Internet perspective to give a solid review of the risk areas that are visible from the Internet. These risk areas could be leveraged by people or companies with malicious intent. Penetration testing provides a full list of your Internet footprint as well as possible vulnerabilities in your defense so that your own IT staff can be empowered to provide a heightened state of security.

The object of Social Engineering is to perform basic trickery in an attempt to discover the relative levels of security awareness amongst employees, and to determine the degree of resistance the company has to this attack profile. Social engineering testing typically involves a mixture of phone calls and emails in an attempt to gain information on internal systems, access methods, and username/password information. It is not uncommon to use a combination of unsolicited calls and inbound emails in an attempt to persuade employees to break from security policies.

Internet Web Code Review has become popular as the testing of choice to discover risk areas in Internet based applications such as portals, e-commerce, Intranets, and other information and database driven entities. Our testing includes similar processes as a Penetration Test with a strong focus on the the application to ensure that no risk areas exist expecially those that have direct access to backend databases.

Internal Penetration Testing aka 'The Trusted Insider': The objective of this testing is to determine the extent of vulnerabilities a trusted employee can discover/exploit from inside the company network and also to examine the risk that intellectual property can be stolen in large amounts.

Physical Penetration Testing aka Physical Location Attacks: This testing is to determine if the security measures in place at your offices and buildings are functioning to prevent and control unwanted guests. Can someone walk into your office and take files from a financials filing cabinet? Can someone walk unopposed into your server room?. Can someone walk into your place of business and plug in a laptop and hack your from inside your own network? Do you staff or security measures monitor and prevent these risks?

War Driving: Wireless networks are commonplace in offices to accommodate laptops and wire-free environments. The signals broadcasted from the wireless devices often emanate past your office walls into the street and parking lots where it has become common for hackers to piggy-back these signals and have access to your information or use your network to attack others so that your company appears responsible. This type of testing can determine the risk inherent with your organization and wireless technologies.
